Company Timeline

II-VI Aerospace & Defense brings together a collection of businesses acquired by II-VI over the last 20 years.  These include Exotic Electro-Optics, LightWorks, VLOC, Max Levy, Optonicus, Redstone Aerospace, and Precision Asphere.

Since its establishment in 1961, II-VI Aerospace & Defense has maintained a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Our commitment to customer satisfaction is achieved by continuous training of our staff with focus on quality, on-time delivery, and cost reduction. From the initial customer inquiry to final delivery, meeting the customer's requirements is our primary objective.

II-VI Aerospace & Defense is focused on the research, development, and marketing of intelligent optical systems used by commercial and government organizations. The company’s INFOCO product family of intelligent fiber collimators and arrays is used to improve performance for atmospheric imaging, laser communications, laser target tracking, directed energy, and remote sensing applications. II-VI A&D continues to research in several development areas with a roadmap to deliver additional innovative products in the future.

II-VI Aerospace & Defense' designs, manufactures, assembles and tests precision optical systems and components. Our products have been deployed on military platforms such as submarines, tanks, missiles, fighter jets and UAV’s. II-VI Aerospace & Defense has grown over the years from a provider of specialty optical materials to a full service provider of optical components and optical systems.

II-VI Aerospace & Defense' contributions begin during a program's conceptual and production design phases. Engineering and pre-production models are developed during these phases with a focus on product performance and cost effectiveness. Through the life of the program, II-VI Aerospace & Defense' comprehensive capabilities provide full control over product quality, cost and schedule.
